ABSTRACT
Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of CT-guided 125I radioactive seed implantation combined with gemcitabine and Gio (gemcitabine and S-1, GS scheme) chemotherapy in treating advanced pancreatic carcinoma. Methods Sixty-eight patients with inoperable advanced pancreatic carcinoma were randomly divided into two groups. Patients in group A(n=38) were treated with CT-guided 125I radioactive seed implantation combined with GS chemotherapy scheme, while patients in group B (n=30) received GS chemotherapy scheme only. The short-term effect, the median progression-free survival time, the median survival time and adverse reactions of the two groups were determined , and the results were compared between the two groups. Results The objective response rate (ORR), disease control rate (DCR) and clinical benefit rate (CBR) of the group A were 57.9%, 73.7%and 84.2%respectively, while those of group B were 26.7%, 46.7% and 60.0% respectively. The differences between the two groups were statistically significant (P0.05). Conclusion For advanced pancreatic carcinoma, CT-guided 125I radioactive seed implantation combined with GS program is a safe and effective treatment.
ABSTRACT
Objective To investigate the value of CT-guided 125I particles implantation combined with gemcitabine plus S-1 (GS) regimen in the treatment of locally advanced pancreatic cancer.Methods 42 patients with unresectable local advanced pancreatic cancer were given with CT-guided 125I seed implantation.3-4 cycles of GS regimen was given based on the tolerance of patient s body within 3-7 d after implantation of particles.Review of blood,CA199,chest X-ray,CT scan + enhanced or MRI were performed at 2nd,4th,6th,12th month after surgery.Results 2nd,4th,6th month after surgery,tumor lesions were significantly reduced,ORRs were 59.5 ％ (25/42),66.7 ％ (28/42) and 73.8 ％ (31/42),respectively,DCRs were 83.3 ％ (35/42),78.6 ％ (33/42) and 76.2 ％ (32/42),respectively.No serious adverse reactions were observed,patient could tolerate these reactions.The 6th,12th,24th month survival rates were 100 ％ (42/42),47.6 ％ (20/42) and 11.9 ％ (5/42),respectively,mPFS was 8.27 months and mOS was 12.00 months.Conclusion CT-guided 125I particles implantation combined with GS regimen is convenient,safe,high efficacy in the treatment of locally advanced pancreatic cancer.
ABSTRACT
<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To identified the resistance of Coix to Ustilago coicis and screen the high disease-resistance Coix germplasm.</p><p><b>METHOD</b>Field and laboratory biochemical methods were used for the resistance identification. Ninteen germplasms collected from 7 provinces in southern of China such as Yunnan, Zhejiang, Fujian etc. were inoculated with chlamydospore of U. coicis, respectively. The incidence of a disease in field was investigated and the level of resistance was evaluated. The PAL activity dynamic changes in different level resistant germplasms were further determined.</p><p><b>RESULT</b>The result of field test showed 1 germplasm was immune, 1 germplasm was high resistance which incidence rate was under 20%, 6 germplasms were moderate resistance with the average incidence rates ranged within 20% - 40%, 11 of 19 germplasms that average incidence rates above 40% were identified as sensitive resistance. The value of PLA activity peak of resistant germplasm in seedling was significant higher and appeared earlier than that of the sensitive ones after inoculating.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>Most collected C. lacryma-jobi germplasms are sensitive to smut in our investigation; the PAL activity may play important role in Coix germplasm for resistance to smut and the biochemical method may be as an aiding method to resistance identification of Coix germplasm.</p>

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the relationship between the amount of interleukin-8(IL-8) and granulocyte colony-stimulating factor(G-CSF) and Helicobacter pylori(Hp) infection in gastric mucosa.METHODS Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) was used to detect the amount of IL-8 and G-CSF in 56 patients including normal gastric mucosa(n=18) and H.pylori infection patients(n=38) who were performed with gastroscope with their supernate fluid of gastrostoma mucosa tissue culture,and to examine the difference between Hp infected cases and non-Hp infected ones and H.pylori infection patients before and after treatment.RESULTS The amount of IL-8 and GCSF in Hp infected cases was significantly higher than non-infected ones(P
ABSTRACT
Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of preoperative perfusion chemotherapy via left gastric artery catheterization in patients with cardiac cancer of the stomach.Methods 56 operated cases with cardiac cancer,who had undergone preoperative perfusion chemotherapy via left gastric artery,were collected and analyzed.Results Most of the tumors were hypervascular as studied with DSA.After perfusion chemotherapy,there was amelioration of symptoms.Decrease in size about 50% of the tumor mass,shown in barium study were found in 32 patients,(18% of them).The survival rates one year,two years and three years after surgical resection were 98%,78.6% and 53.6% respectively.18 cases(32%)had gastric hemorrage,that was the main complication after perfusion.Conclusion Preoperative perfusion chemotherapy via left gastric artery in cases with cardiac cancer of the stomach is an effective measure in increasing resection rates in surgery.

AIM: To establish the quality standard for Shexiangtongbi Babu plaster (Radix Astragali, Radix Angelicae sinensis, moschus, Commiphora myrrha, Resina Boswelliae Carterii, Radix Angelicae Pubescentis, Sanguis Draxonis, etc.) METHODS: Borneolum Syntheticum, Commiphora Myrrha, Radix Angelicae Pubescentis, Sanguis Draxonis, Radix Angelicae Sinensis were identified by TLC, and the content of Muscone was determined by GC. RESULTS: Borneolum Syntheticum, Commiphora Myrrha, Radix Angelicae Pubscentis, Radix Angelicae Sinensis could be identified by TLC. Muscone showed a good linear relationship at range of 0.026?g～0.078?g, r =0.9992. The average recovery was 97.57%, and RSD 1.50% respectively. CONCLUSION: The method is accurate and can be used to control the quality of Shexiangtongbi Babu plaster.
